By Mr Ramdas Iyer
Mr Ramdas Iyer shared his thoughts on the blueline menace and I found his solution very comprehensive and feasible. what are your opinions.
Here is what he had to say
I suggest strongly that the DTC be handed over to DMRC. Give enough funds to DMRC so that Metro becomes the primary transport system in Delhi. Ban Blueline and other chartered services and their foul mouthed and illiterate drivers and conducters. . Expand DMRC so as to touch every corner of Delhi. Every single home in Delhi should be within a five minute walking distance of a well maintained feeder service to the Delhi Metro or the Metro itself. Let Delhi Metro tie up with banks so that credit/debit cards can be used to buy integrated tickets for feeder services and Metro. HCBS also should be handed over to Delhi Metro. And for God’s sake do not put Delhi Metro under the Delhi Government. Let the Union Ministry for Surface Transport/Railways handle DMRC (providing this ministry isnt handled by DMK, RJD or such other sundry parties run by idiotic megalomaniacs). Ban new registration of cars and set up toll booths which collect heavy toll taxes from car drivers every 500 meters. Encourage car pooling. Make travelling alone by in a car punishable with a very heavy fine or even imprisonment so that people who use cars will be forced to offer lifts to people at a cost. Prevent parking on public places like roads by charging prohibitive fees for parking like a thousand rupees per hour.

Blueline buses have killed many people in the recent months because of negligent and rash driving.
A recent Blue line mishap claimed the life of a teenager
A teenaged boy was on Sunday left seriously injured in a north-west Delhi locality after a speeding Blueline bus hit him near a bus stop, police said.
While the driver fled the scene after the mishap, the 16-year-old boy, yet to be identified, was rushed to a city hospital with head injuries where his condition is stated to be critical, they said. According to the police, the incident occurred at around 3.30 pm. The bus on route no 159, plying between Jahangirpuri to Shadipur, struck the teenager near a bus stop at Adarsh Nagar here. How can this menace be stopped. The delhi govt started working on the High capacity Bus Service (HCBS) but still there dosen’t seem to be a permanent solution coming out from this. Recently the negligent work of the HCBS project claimed another life.
The insanely planned High Capacity Bus System project has caused a number of accidents. On early Tuesday morning, it claimed a life in its prime – that of a 25-year-old entrepreneur, Mayank Gulati. Read the rest of this entry »

Nuclear deal has currently been the center of attention. The non-allegiance of the left has put the deal in doldrums. Some top scientists of the country say that it will prevent India from developing nuclear technology for weapons and for other purposes in future. I have compared the pros and cons of the deal.
Pros
India is a developing economy and to maintain its current growth it needs power to run its industries. In a country like Germany 60% of the power comes from nuclear power plants. To grow into a super power we need power
cons
India is an agro nation. Hence we need to focus on our strengths and develop our agricultural practices.
This deal will effect our sovereignity in future
Indian nuclear power plants are based on a different technology than the technology united states is offering us( heavy water)
The possibilty of sabotage cannot be neglected and in a densely populated nation the consequences would be un-imaginable (remember Bhopal Gas tragedy)
My point of view
I am against the deal as I feel we Indians can build better technology than the americans. We have a lot of potential and if channelised properly we can win the world with peace and harmony

United States-India Peaceful Atomic Energy Cooperation Act
source: wikipedia
The United States-India Peaceful Atomic Energy Cooperation Act of 2006 is the legal framework for a bilateral pact between the United States and India under which the U.S. will provide access to civilian nuclear technology and access to nuclear fuel in exchange for International Atomic Energy Agency-safeguards on civilian Indian reactors. This act provides the legal basis for a 123 Agreement with India. The 123 agreement requires separate U.S. congressional approval and Indian cabinet approval and will define the exact terms and conditions for bilateral civilian nuclear cooperation. Nadigram dispute has shown that how the political parties in India mis-use their power for their vested interests and do not look into the needs of the common man and as a result the inocent common man suffers. This has also happened in the past. Human life does not have any value in this country and more innocent people will keep on dying.
What are your opinions on this issue?
How do you think it should be tackeled?
Is the govt right?
If the govt is wrong should they be punished and if yes how?
Common India speak up!

Nandigram dispute
source:wikipedia
The Nandigram SEZ controversy, which caused the Nandigram massacre, started when the West Bengal government decided that the Salim Group of Indonesia would set up a chemical hub under the SEZ policy at Nandigram, a rural area in the district of Purba Medinipur. The villagers took over the administration of the area and all the roads to the villages were cut off. The administration was directed to break the Bhumi Ucched Protirodh Commitee’s (BUPC) resistance at Nandigram and a massive operation with at least 3,000 policemen was launched on March 14, 2007. However, prior information of the impending action had leaked out to the BUPC who amassed a crowd of roughly 2,000 villagers at the entry points into Nandigram with women and children forming the front ranks. In the resulting mayhem, at least 14 people were killed.
