Benazir Bhutto burried in Larkana
Posted by speakindia on December 28, 2007
Slain Pakistan leader Benazir Bhutto has been laid to rest in ancestral graveyard in Larkana, near her father’s grave.
Her supporters gathered in large numbers to pay last respect to their beloved leader.
Earlier, the funeral procession for slain Pakistan opposition leader Benazir Bhutto was held in southern Sindh on Friday afternoon.
The body of assassinated former premier Benazir Bhutto was flown to her ancestral village in Pakistan’s Sindh province on Friday morning, where hundreds of her supporters converged to attend the funeral following a night of violent protests across the country against her killing.
The body was flown in a military aircraft from Rawalpindi’s Chaklala airbase to Sukkur, from where it was ferried by a helicopter to Mohenjodaro, near her ancestral home at Naudero village.
Bhutto’s husband Asif Ali Zardari and their three children — son Bilawal and daughters Bakhtawar and Asifa, who flew in from Dubai last evening, accompanied the coffin from Rawalpindi.
The former prime minister’s estranged sister-in-law Ghinwa Bhutto and niece Fatima too joined the family in mourning at her native village.

Death of Pakistans’ future
Posted by speakindia on December 28, 2007
Benazir Bhutto was like a ray of hope for those citizens of Pakistan who wanted to grow in a non-violent and peaceful manner and see Pakistan as one of the leading nations of tomorrow. For the fundamentalists, this is a victory in a war they had already lost in the beginning.
To all of us it shows that if the people of a country get corrupted, there is no way a country can progress. Further more if the land is polluted by people with wrong thoughts, the gods even won’t spare them. If nothing doesn’t happen now Pakistan will go back to stone age.

Benazir Bhutto’s life
Posted by speakindia on December 28, 2007
Benazir Bhutto (June 21, 1953 – December 27, 2007) was a Pakistani politician who chaired the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP), a centre-left political party in Pakistan affiliated to the Socialist International. Bhutto was the first woman elected to lead a Muslim state, having been twice elected Prime Minister of Pakistan. She was sworn in for the first time in 1988 at the age of 35, but was removed from office 20 months later under the order of then-president Ghulam Ishaq Khan on grounds of alleged corruption. In 1993 Bhutto was re-elected but was again removed in 1996 on similar charges, this time by President Farooq Leghari.
