Aarushi Talwar has been the most talked about topic on the Indian Television, specially news channels these days. There have been numerous scripts read aloud by the TV anchors and as many versions of the murder being considered on television. The police where not far in grabbing the opportunity to hog the limelight and shortly after their first press conference, they went into in a bunker as the ever digging media found their incapability and illiterate (virtually) minds. A CBI inquiry was ordered and the shameful police people suspended. Now that the case is in the hands of the CBI, it is coming to new twists and turns.
Theses turns have proved to be the perfect script for the television creative artists, who seriously lack some talent. They are very good at one thing, the art of copying. the thing they do very well. if not hollywood, it is reality. After all it is their inspiration. I have no problem with that. It is the insensitivity with which this sensitive subject has been approached. They have pointed fingers at the character of the 14 year old victim (Aarushi). They have left no stone unturned to capture their audience and make more money. You have to make money, make it, talk about aarushi, but please don’t assassinate her image.Don’t instill fear in the minds of school going children and for heaven sake don’t create something non-existent. The one thing, which made me very upset was the “MMS” which was aired on “India” new channel. The channel now faces temporary ban. it is my appeal to all those who are reading this to discourage such talks. Read the rest of this entry »

Nitish Katara was a year old business executive in Delhi who was murdered in the early hours of February , , apparently by the son of an influential Indian politician. The son of an IAS officer in the Ministry of Shipping, Nitish had recently graduated from the Institute of Management Technology, Ghaziabad. There, he had fallen in love with his classmate, Bharti Yadav, who comes from a criminal-politician family. It is widely believed that he was murdered by Bharti’s brother Vikas Yadav, because the family did not approve their relationship.
Bharti Yadav is the daughter of D. P. Yadav, “unrivalled don of western Uttar Pradesh”. Before entering politics, D. P. Yadav had racked up nine murder charges, and was behind a spurious liquor sale which killed people in the early s. Since , he has served several terms as minister in the state government with Mulayam Singh Yadav. In , he became a member of the Indian Parliament under the Bharatiya Janata Party but such was the ensuiing scandal that the party threw him out within days. Most recently, he narrowly won the Uttar Pradesh assembly elections, from Sahaswan (margin of in , votes cast). Bharti’s mother, Umlesh Yadav, is also a state legislator, representing neighbouring Bisauli. Read the rest of this entry »

Aarushi Talwar’S father Rajesh Talwar was on Tuesday remanded in three days’ police custody by the Noida Chief Judicial Magistrate’s (CJM) court.
Lawyers of the Gautam Budha Nagar Bar Association, who were on strike in support of the Gujjar agitation, did not allow Talwar’s advocates to argue the case. Talwar himself pleaded his case.
Around 12.08 pm, four vehicles carrying prisoners from the Dasna jail, including Talwar, reached the Noida Phase II court. The drivers of the vehicles said they had started at 9.40 a.m. from the jail but due to traffic jams on the national highway near Lal Kuan, they were delayed by an hour.
Before Talwar was taken to the CJM’s court, the Noida Police led by SP (city) AK Tripathi asked the media to move out of the court complex. He said only advocates of Talwar’s family could enter.
When proceedings started, bar association members manhandled Talwar’s relatives and his advocate Mahinder Pratap Singh.
After the melee, CJM AK Singh heard the prosecution officer and Talwar and sent him on police remand for three days. A lawyer will be there with Talwar during the interrogation period.
Senior prosecution officer PC Srivastava said, “It was argued that Rajesh Talwar had lodged an FIR against Hemraj that he had murdered his daughter Arushi and after committing the crime ran away. After one day, the body of Hemraj was found lying on the terrace, which was locked. When police went to the spot, they recovered the dead body of Hemraj in the absence of the Talwars.”
“Rajesh and his wife had gone to Haridwar to immerse her ashes in the Ganga,” said Srivastava.
Srivastava said when they came back, the police interrogated Rajesh Talwar, who confessed that he had killed his daughter and Hemraj. “He also confessed that he had illicit relations with Dr Anita Durrani. He said Aarushi was threatening to expose the relation before her grandparents,” he said.
Earlier, Talwar moved an adjournment application, seeking another date for hearing his plea because of the lawyers’ strike. He said he was innocent and had not confessed anything.
Talwar’s advocate Mahinder Pratap Singh said, “I had requested the bar association to allow me to appear for Talwar but they rejected my request. It was then decided that the adjournment application would be moved by Rajesh Talwar himself.”

Police clueless
With the Noida double murder case proving to be a tough nut to crack, five days after the sensational killing of the teenaged school girl Aarushi Talwar and the family’s domestic help Hemraj, the police have now pinned their hopes on call details of the missing mobile phones of the deceased for reaching any conclusion.
Additional Director-General of Police (Law and Order and Special Task Force) Brij Lal said here on Tuesday that the phone call details were being examined by the Noida police and the Special Task Force but nothing definite had emerged so far. The mobile phones remain untraced, he added.
Mr. Lal said the case had not been worked out so far and no arrests had been made though over a dozen persons, including Aarushi’s parents and close relatives, had been interrogated by the police. He ruled out the possibility of pressure being applied on the investigating teams in a bid to hush up the case considering that it involved a family belonging to the affluent upper middle class section of society. Ana Magdalene: Im amazed by the article written by Miss Donna from UK wherein she feels that the Scarlett Keeling rape and murder is the fault of the goan folk. She claims to have come to India 15 years ago and there were caring and spiritual folk. Now 15 years down the line, the entire scenario has changed! This struck me as an odd remark! Because I myself am Goan and Ive lived in this laid-back state for 20 years of my life. I have not once come across a Goan who is not willing to care for a fellow goan or tourist!
What happened to Scarlett is unfortunate! The criminals must be brought to justice. But Please do not say its the fault of the goans! Because the Goa where was brought up in does not comprise of murderers. Infact I cannot relate at all to the Goa that’s in the media gaze post Scarlett Keeling’s death. I am shocked to find how much Anjuna has changed. Its a serene, picturesque village of Anjuna that stills plays in my mind.
I strongly believe Fiona Mackeown should have known better than to trust her under-age daughter in the care of a stranger and that too in a foreign country! I being Goan and 20 years of age never venture out on my own at night. Parents should be there guide their young ones. Im glad mine did. As much as you try to ignore it, drugs, alcohol, peer pressure is always present in the background of almost every country you can point on the globe! All that matters is whether you can or cannot keep away from these bad elements. Maybe Scarlett was too young to know the difference. This is where parental guidance had to come in.
All that matters now is whether the CBI can bring the culprits down to their knees. I do hope that justice is brought to Scarlett Keeling. May her soul rest in peace. As a Goan, I can only pray that Goa’s image is not shattered any further.

Puneet Rajhans commented on the article, ” Blueline Menace in Delhi“
This is what he had to say
The sooner you phase out these blueline buses, the better it would be for Delhi commuters. One has lost count of the number of occasions when blueline staff break all norms. Not only the driver overspeeds, he changes lane at will and is abrasive and abusive. The conductor is rude to the extent possible. These devils need to be tamed, tamed and tamed. They have unleashed a jungle raj on city roads. What on earth prevents the commuters inside the bus to raise a voice. Perhaps their eagerness to reach the destination is too overwhelming to bother about any other thing. Or they are too scared to respond to situations. No amount of strict action can make them fall in line. No amount of cajoling/coercing can make them see logic. They need to be tamed with all possible measures one can think of in the course of traffic governance. At least six to nine months should be set aside when half of the fleet would be off the roads. Well, commuters even if they face hardships would in the normal course get used to it. As for the remaining fleet on the road, this action would be enough to make them curb their notoriety till the period they are not completely phased out. But they have to be phased out at any cost.
These devils have snatched so many lives that authorities aren’t bothered to think about when one gets knocked down. Perhaps it is the offshoot of liberalization that human angle has taken a backseat. Perhaps we are tied to our daily dose of happenings that nothing can shake us even if the menace continues unabated.
When so many public campaigns have been launched on so many issues, some even trivial by nature, why can’t a campaign be launched on such an issue where human life is at stake. For all those who don’t take public transport, spare a thought or two for all those who take this form of transport and face a constant threat of their life being cut short.
